Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte Stays Connected Through ACN Global Reach Charities

CONCORD, NC, May 5, 2011 – When the newly built Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte begins accepting families in May, it can ensure that those who stay in the House have the personal support they need from loved ones, even when distance separates them. Concord-based ACN Global Reach Charities is providing ACN DigitalTalk^® business communications service for the offices and guest rooms in the House. DigitalTalk’s robust digital phone service will ensure guests are never out of touch and that the House will benefit from the most advanced communications technology available for businesses of any size. The reliable phone service includes DigitalTalk’s HD Voice™ technology, providing true-to-life sound quality on every call.

In addition to supplying DigitalTalk phone and Internet services to all administration offices as well as phone services to all guest rooms, ACN Global Reach Charities is installing ACN’s IRIS V Video Phones in the suites and common areas of the new House. Guests of the House will be able to send companion video phones home and make video phone calls free of charge, so they can see their loved ones every time they call – whether it is just to say "hello" or for that extra support needed at the end of a stressful day. This overall 10-year communications commitment by ACN Global Reach Charities has an estimated value of $450,000.

The provision of the DigitalTalk phones and Internet service as well as all of the video phones and related services has been made possible by donations to ACN Global Reach Charities by ACN, Inc. ACN, Inc. is the primary donor to ACN Global Reach Charities and has long been a supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and the construction of the House in Charlotte. In 2008, the company chose the Ronald McDonald House as its global charity and began collecting donations for the local Ronald McDonald House chapter at each of its quarterly training events held throughout the world. This effort is now being led by ACN Global Reach Charities.
